My blogging experience

 Hello everyone;

I have written many blogs during the time I’ve been working at the U and I  thought that writing a blog was going to be a lot of work and was going to be kind of boring. But it wasn’t!

I really enjoyed doing this blog since the very beginning. From the very first moment that I created the name I knew that my blog was going a challenge. Writing every week about different topics (some of them not so entertaining) was a real challenge.

When you write a blog, you have to be creative and you have to invite some other people to feel like reading your posts. Some days my creativity was not so bright, so the posts were kind of not so cool. All the posts have a particular feeling and each one is special in some way. :)

It also helped me to know you all a little bit better and know more about your lives and interests.

So, as this is the last post, I’d like to say thank you to all of you who took the time to attend the classes, take part in them and write your blogs.  For me, it was very interesting to meet all of you and have the chance to help you to improve your English a little bit and encourage you to get involved in the wonderful world of learning a new language.

A big hug for all of you!Cheers!

A subject I love

Hello everyone;
As we have to write about a subject we enjoyed this semester, I have to say that my favorite one this term was International Politics, a full English speaking class. This is a subject that I don’t teach at University of Chile but I used to teach this at Inacap for the students of translation. I really like this topic because it makes me study a lot so I learn about new issues that I’m not that familiar with. It’s always good to learn new stuff and it’s even better when you have to make others to learn about it. Not everyone likes this, but it’s a very interesting subject related to the policies and politics that rule the world today and the topics that this involves. I’ve learnt quite a lot about countries, bordering conflicts, political and social issues and the many problems facing the world nowadays. I really enjoy teaching this to my students. I hope to teach this subject someday here at the U.
Cheers

A career-related website/ An expert on your field

Hello everyone!

As this is going to be a post about one website that we relate to our careers and this one, it's the one that I use the most and it's one of my favorite webpages. This is National Geographic. I really love this site because it has a lot of  stories, documentaries and pictures of almost everything you can imagine. Nature, animals, people, science, education and even games.  It is a very interesting page that everyone, regardless their interests, can enjoy a lot and can also get a lot of outstanding information. National geographic magazine has a very user-friendly layout and it is not difficult to browse around.
I visit this page almost every week to get stories and readings for my students.  The register of the language is easy to understand even for someone that is just starting to learn English.
